How We Stack Up
It’s important to understand that a water softener uses water and salt to regenerate (clean itself). However, not all water softeners are created equally. We encourage you to do your homework and ask the right questions. In comparison, you will find that AquaMaster® is highly water and salt-efficient.
The number of grains of hardness removed between each regeneration is not the maximum capacity of the water softener. It is either a factory setting or one configured at installation — most likely chosen because it is the most efficient setting for your unit.
Ask the following questions:
How much water does the softener use per regeneration, on average?
How much salt does it use per regeneration, on average?
How much time does it take to regenerate, on average?
*Factory Setting
We know it can sometimes be difficult to get these numbers from certain companies. However, buying a water softener without knowing this information is like buying a car without knowing its fuel efficiency. If the company doesn’t know, or won’t provide, the information you’re asking for, it’s likely the numbers aren’t favourable — and performance may be poor.
